Increase Sales & Leads in 15 Minutes with Google SEO


By far one of the best ways to increase your inbound sales and leads for any business is to rank better on Google Search and Google Maps. Luckily, there are ways to do so without having to be a technical expert in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactics.

 

For those who are unfamiliar with SEO, it's basically the practice of optimizing your website (for Google Search) and Google My Business (aka GMB, for Google Maps) so Google both understands what your digital properties represent, and trusts your site and Google Maps to be high quality.

 

There are a number of things that go into ranking your site and your GMB, and we could spend countless blog posts on the intricacies of increasing your rankings. If you'd rather not spend your remaining days on this earth learning about the Google algorithm, then there's an easier, more effective way to increase your rankings that'll take just 15 minutes.

 

That way is building out citations.

 

A citation is basically a reference to your business. One of the ways Google decides whether or not a particular business is trustworthy, is by looking elsewhere in the web-scape for references to that business. The more references it finds, the more "trustworthy" that business becomes in the eyes of Google.

 

To build out citations, all you need to do is register your business NAP-W (Name, Address, Phone Number and Website) in as many registries as you can find. What's a registry? Think Yelp, Yellow Pages, etc.

 

"Wait... I thought you said this is easy?!"

 

Ahh, yes, yes I did. It's true, if you do this all on your lonesome it will take you a good chunk of time. Luckily, you can hire someone for $5 or $10 to do it for you on Fiverr.

 

All you need to do is go to Fiverr and search "website citations" and "local citations". Browse the results, choose a freelancer you'd like to work with, hire them to do the work and you're off to the races.

 

SEO is always a long-term play. So the sooner you do this the better.
